In order to use the PayPal's Website Payments Pro suite of products, you must have a PayPal business account (free).

I. I do not have an existing PayPal account:
1. Go to https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_registration-run
2. Choose to create a Business account
3. Choose country and click on Continue
4. Business Account Sign Up:
   a. Fill out your business information
   b. Fill in the business owner contact information
   c. Fill in your business owner address and click on Continue
   d. Enter in your email address
   e. Choose your security questions
   f. Accept the user agreement and legal policy
   g. Type in your security measure
   h. Click on Sign Up
5. Confirm your address by adding a credit card to your funding source
6. Verify your email address by checking your email address and follow instructions in the PayPal email address
7. Add a bank account to your funding source to be a Verified member. This process may take several business days. Follow the instructions on the PayPal site to add a bank account.
8. Go to section III to setup your account configuration


II. I have an existing Personal account with PayPal
1. Go to https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_registration-run
2. Click on the Upgrade your Account link
3. Click on the Upgrade Now button
4. If your account was a personal account, you will automatically be upgraded to a Premier account
5. To upgrade to a business account, start from Step 1 again
6. If you were a Premier account holder, you will be sent to the Business account upgrade. Follow the instructions.
7. Follow Steps 5-8 in Section I if you have not done so
8. Go to section III to setup your account configuration


III. Upgrading to a Business Account
1. Cut and paste this URL into your browser: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_dcc_hub-inside
2. If you do not have a business account with PayPal, you will see a Upgrade to Business Account link
3. Click on the link and follow the process for upgrading


IV. Applying for the Website Payments Pro application
1. Cut and paste this URL into your browser: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_dcc_hub-inside
2. Click on the Submit Application link on the page
3. Fill out your information. You will be required to have a social security number for this application
4. Submit your application. Approval will take between 24-48 hours to approve. You will get an approval email or you can visit the sign up page again: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_dcc_hub-inside
5. Once you are approved, go to this site again: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_dcc_hub-inside
6. You should see a Complete Billing Agreement link on the page. Click on that link and agree to the billing information.


V. Grant permissions to ASecureCart
1. Go to https://www.paypal.com and sign in
2. Click on the Profile section under the My Account Tab
3. Under the Account Information column, you should see the API Access link, click on that link (if you do not see it then your account is not Premier or Business, go back to Sections I or II)
4. In the API Access page, choose the "Grant API Permission" option.
5. For the API Account Name, enter: info_api1.asecurecart.net
6. Check on the following checkboxes for the following APIs:

   Direct Payment
   Express Checkout

Note - if you do not see the above options, check the following individual APIs
   a. SetExpressCheckout
   b. GetExpressCheckoutDetails
   c. DoExpressCheckoutPayment
   d. DoDirectPayment

IMPORTANT NOTE - if you are using PayPal's Recurring Payments feature, you MUST also grant the following API Access:    CreateRecurringPaymentsProfile

VI. Configure ASecureCart to use your WebSite Payments Pro settings
1. Log into the ASecureCart Profile Manager using the username and password you created when you signed up.
2. Click on the "Payment Methods" screen.
3. Select the "PayPal Website Payments Pro" option from the "Avaliable Options" box (or select the "Secure Credit Card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover)" from the "Selected Options" list if you've previously selected the Website Payments Pro option).
4. Set the "PayPal Account E-mail" address to the e-mail address that is listed as the "Primary E-mail" on your PayPal Business account, check which credit cards you will accept payment from, and check the "Security Code Required" box. Click Save.


VII. If your PayPal account is setup to accept e-Checks
1. If you accept e-Checks, you can configure PayPal's Instant Payment Notification (IPN) to signal ASecureCart when the e-check has cleared. To do this, login to your PayPal Business account, click the "Profile" tab and then click the "Instant Payment Notification Preferences" link under "Selling Preferences".
2. Click the Edit button and then check the "Instant Payment Notification" check box. For the URL, enter (replace YOUR_CART_NAME with your actual cart name):

   http://www.asecurecart.net/server/PayPalIPN.aspx/YOUR_CART_NAME

3. Click the "Save" button to save your PayPal settings. When an e-check clears, PayPal will post the transaction to our IPN processor and finalize the transaction.


You should now be ready to accept payments via PayPal's Website Payments Pro!
